Publishing a map
Share a map on the Maps page: its versions, copies, links and reports.
Publishing
- Signed in, the editor’s Publish panel sends a playable map (no problem left) to the Maps page, with a description (up to 280 letters) and up to 5 tags.
- The name and the description pass a word filter: other players read them.
- The Maps page shows its numbers and its picture, worked out on the same build a match plays.
Versions
- Each publish is a new version (v1, v2…), frozen as it was: your later edits never change a version already out. Older versions still play by their link.
- A map may have up to 50 versions; past that, copy it to go on.
- Unlist takes it out of the search (its links still play it); List it again brings it back. Deleting the map deletes its versions.
Copies and links
- Copy in the editor makes your own copy of someone’s map, which says what it was based on and by whom.
- A map’s link opens its page; Play this map opens a private match on it, for guests too.
Reports and hidden maps
- Anyone signed in may report someone else’s map, once: offensive name or description; the map is broken or unplayable; copied from someone else's map; something else.
- A map hidden by the game’s keepers can no longer be found, opened or played, nor can its new versions.
- A retired map is a seed drawn by an older generator: kept for its matches and replays, no longer played.
